Scope Voodoo Experience

The Campaign:

Fresh breath is key, no matter the circumstance. But when you’re out in public, it’s of dire importance. Scope knows this and wanted to promote their rebranded image and mouthwash at a very public event, the Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans. To make this dream a reality, Digital Variant worked with Fuse.tv to deliver a sleek and modern Facebook app where users could enter for a chance to win tickets to Voodoo, opt-in to participate at on-site events, and have a chance to win free VIP packages once they arrive at the event.

Implementation:

Users entered the app from Scope’s Facebook page that at the time boasted over 700K fans. Once on the app, they were able to interact with the brand in a number of ways:

Crowd Courage – One of Scope’s newest slogans is “Courage Encouraged.” And with fresh breath, the brand thinks you’ll feel courageous. First, Scope had users enter the sweepstakes to win a trip to the Voodoo Music Festival. To enter, users had to supply the basics (name, email, birthday, agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, etc). After this, they were prompted to answer a couple of fun questions:

  • “What is the most courageous thing you are willing to do?”
  • “Will you be at Voodoo?”
    • Both questions had a dropdown field attached with answers for users to choose from, or supply their own. Talk about engaging.

Festival Info – Following the entry form, the app was equipped with a brand-relevant graphic pertaining to the Voodoo Music Festival. Users could learn more about the grand prize, learn about the festival, learn more about Scope, and buy tickets to the event in case they don’t win.

Outcome:

The Application and Event were a tremendous success. 10′s of thousands of people entered to win and we used data collected by the Application to execute amazing on-site missions and challenges. Voodoo Festival was crazy enough to let us take control of the Jumbotron to connect strangers with similar Facebook profiles (and give them VIP passes), run caption this contests, execute twitter challenges, and more.
